Extra care needs to be taken with the skin around the eyes.

Exercising the body to keep fit by jogging or going to the gym is common, but we can exercise also. The appearance of eye wrinkles and loosening of skin under the eyes can be improved with the help of eye exercises. Eye exercises for eye wrinkles have to be done regularly to achieve any improvement. Eye exercises also help promote better eyesight and reduce eyestrain.

Some eye exercises focus on avoiding or removing the problem of eye wrinkles, eye bags and dark circles. Eye wrinkles can be prevented by placing fingers on both sides of the eyes, keeping them open and repeating the exercise 20 times. Simply by looking up, the upper lid of the eye can be strengthened. Repeat the exercise as many times as you like. While doing this exercise, wrinkles should not form on other parts of the face. To fight the problem of eye bags, place the index fingers on the lower eyelids to provide resistance when closing the eyes. Repeat the exercise 20 times. Wrinkles should not form on other parts of the face while doing this exercise. Other eye exercises include rubbing hands together so they feel warm and placing the palms tightly on the eyes. Avoid putting pressure on the eyeballs. After some time, remove the palms from the eyes.

There are other regimens that work. For the hot and cold compresses, take two towels and soak one in hot and one in cold water. Press the two towels alternately on the face against the eyebrows, eyelids and cheeks and always end with the cold compress. For the eyelid massage, close the eyes and gently rub with circular movement of the fingers. Fingers should be pressed very lightly to avoid damage to the eyes.

Causes of wrinkles and prevention

All of us want to look younger than our real age. Wrinkles on the forehead are a sign of aging. As we age, our skin is not as elastic when we were young. The lack of elasticity causes wrinkles in old age. As we age, older cells of the skin also die and regenerate. The process slows down with age, and fine lines and wrinkles begin to appear. The movement of facial muscles also causes wrinkles on the forehead. Wrinkles are also caused by exposure to the sun and dehydration.

There are two layers in the skin, epidermis and dermis. Lack of moisture causes fine lines in skin’s surface. Collagen and elastin break down to cause sagging in the skin, eventually turning into wrinkles. Wrinkles are caused by free radicals, exposure to sunlight, hormonal imbalance, muscle use and gravity. Exposure to sunlight cause wrinkles by breaking down collagen. Free radicals damage cell function and change genetic structure to cause wrinkles in the skin. Heavy smokers develop excessive wrinkles on the face. Repeated facial expressions also cause certain fine lines and wrinkles. Facial muscle contraction causes facial wrinkles, wrinkles around eyes, crow’s feet, frown lines. People who are dieting, changing their food habits often, lose weight suddenly also experience wrinkles on the face.

Prevention of signs of aging:

It is a sign of skin damage when ultraviolet rays of the sun penetrate the skin. It takes years of sun exposure to cause wrinkles on facial skin. The face, especially, is more prone to skin damage. With age, the ability of skin to stay hydrated reduces. It results in formation of wrinkles. Smoking also causes wrinkles on the skin. Signs of aging appear faster on the face because of smoking, it makes your face look older than you are. Wrinkles are more likely to appear if you are a heavy smoker. Wrinkles can also be prevented with the help of food and liquids rich in antioxidants such as pomegranates, acai and blueberries. Wearing sunglasses, application of sunscreen also protects skin around the eyes. Application of sunscreen should be part of everyday routine for us to protect our facial skin.
