Wrinkles start with fine lines

Fine lines are a sign of ageing. They start appearing on the face as we grow old. Fine lines under the eyes or on forehead are not just a beauty concern, they are signs of ageing. With age, skin becomes thin and dry and less elastic. Signs of aging begin to appear on the face at the age of 30 or 35. They occur due to extrinsic factors or when the facial skin is exposed to environment. Other factors responsible include overexposure to UV light and sunlight. Fine lines are also caused by lack of nutrition and sleep.

The skin has three main layers, epidermis, dermis and the last one is subcutaneous layer. Epidermis has skin cells, proteins and pigments. Dermis has hair follicles, nerves, blood vessels and oil glands. Subcutaneous has sweat glands, hair follicles and fat. The epidermis becomes thin with age, the skin also appears thinner. Fine lines, wrinkles are caused by changes in connective tissue. The subcutaneous layer becomes thin caused by reduced insulation. The risk skin of injury and body temperature increases. All this takes a toll on the skin surface, causing fine lines and wrinkles.
